The post received more than 32,000 points (88% upvoted) and 200 comments in two months. That day, Redditor Atrampoline posted a GIF of the meme in the /r/reactiongifs subreddit. Several months later, on August 18th, Redditor yeeeheeeeheee posted the image in a thread titled "When you ask a girl for her number at the bar and she tells you to go away." The post received more than 18,000 points (93% upvoted) and 120 comments. The following week, on June 17th, Twitter user used the photo as the punchline to the caption "When I’m talking to my cat and she doesn’t answer." The tweet received more than 40 retweets and 280 likes in less than six months (shown below, center). ![]() ![]() On June 10th, 2018, the Facebook account sadmaymaythief shared a screen capture of the image with the caption "when I am high and talking to a tree but he won't answer." The post received more than 400 reactions, 30 comments and 200 shares in less than six months (shown below, left). Within two years, the post received more than 2,400 views. More than a 15 years later, on June 1st, 2017, YouTuber Quote & Quit posted an isolated clip of the quote. During their conversation, Frodo mentions a change in his uncle Bilbo (portrayed by Ian Holm), which he suspects Gandalf knows the reason. In the film, Frodo (portrayed by Elijah Wood) welcomes his friend the wizard Gandalf (portrayed by Ian McKellen) to his home. On December 19th, 2001, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was released in theaters in the United States. ![]()
